"Old "uns" are the best"

I also had a great time at the bakery (1971-73) When it was originally called(Almonds Bakery)starting as a Saturday casual £3.75pd at (14.5 yrs old) cleaning the bakery on the hygiene dept & full time upon leaving school.

Had great laugh with all that worked there, especially the Saturday lads as most were my school mates & we still have a laugh about it all now!! As we used to have floor bomb fights before we finished on a saturday in the mixing room & Chargehand Bill Taylor & Supervisor Bill Johnson (god bless "em" used to play bloody "ell" with us all & drag us the manager Eric Storr who used to fine us 2 cigerettes each & made to clear it all up!! ha ha ha. Good money as well £17pw.

I Then left to join the Army in 1973(22 years service). Used to go out with one of the wages girls called Dorothy Jackson. I still have fond memories & a tear in my eye every time i drive past. Happy days!!!!!.
