A review of C & J Ives by Paul Stanley written on Thursday 17th of May 2012
We have eaten today in the cafe at Bluhills, but we won`t be going back. The food was dire.
Steak pie that had obviously been reheated in a microwave making the pastry heavy and soggy.
A pathetic attempt at home made chips that were over cooked on the outside and without flavour except that of old oil.
All served with the cheapest of marrowfat peas ALONG with a couple of spoonfulls of the green water from the can.
Oh, and gravy made from granules, full of lumps. A "FARM" shop cafe? That can`t even make proper gravy?
AND at £9 for 2 portions? YOU work it out !!!!!.
