A review of Mother Hubbards Fish & Chip Restaurant by Batty written on Friday 31st of August 2012
I have fish and chips once per week from Mother Hubbards. it currently costs me £4.50.
Chips are a littl on the pale side but just about cooked and no at all greasy. On occasions the fish has been a little stringy but more often than not the fish is superb being very fresh, quite large in size and again not at all greasy. If the food was not up to standard I would simply go else where but I happily return to Mother Hubbards each week. I will also have a fish sandwich with is a whole fish on a large teacake/breadcake/breadroll with a few chip (sometimes only a token jesture) this costs £3.50 and is quite good value.
Food is always served in a card tray regardless of if you are eating in or out of the shop. Cutlery is always provided but is plastic construction.
Just a cautionary note. Be careful if eating in as the floor is often a little slippy..
