A review of Silver Jubilee Restaurant & Take Away by Kashif Hussain written on Saturday 17th of July 2010
Being a local of BD9 I thought of taking my wife to one of the local restaurants, we tried Silver Jubilee, remembering my childhood living on Oak Lane and my parents shop which was opposite this restaurant, I remember in the eighties when I was 8-9 years old going to Silver Jubilee to buy samosas, they used to cost 25 pence and the chutney which you used to have to ask for was delicious, unfortunately the other restaurant on Oak Lane which used to be next door, Shiraz Sweet House, has closed which had a unique flavor and taste, but to enjoy Shiraz's curries are also available at Silver Jubilee now. They do grill food too, which they add various Indian, Kashmiri, Pakistani flavors and spices to. This restaurant is one of the earliest from the time of the Queen's silver Jubilee in the seventies, and not many know it as it is on outskirts but a pleasant area with an amazing park, just down the road from this resturant. The service was good, and the food excellent. We ordered masala fish with naan, and a grilled chicken burger and a portion of samosas. The price was good too. Take your family out or your loved one, or treat your family over the coming Ramadhan..
